Frequently asked questions
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes. Drop multiple files and the same resize settings apply to all of them. Download each result individually.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Downscaling preserves quality well. Upscaling beyond 200% may look blurry since you can't add detail that wasn't in the original image.
What resolution do I need for printing?
For print at 300 DPI, a 4x6 inch photo needs 1200x1800 pixels. An 8x10 inch print needs 2400x3000 pixels. Screen and web images only need 72-150 DPI, so much smaller files are fine.
Should I resize before or after compressing?
Always resize first, then compress. Resizing reduces the number of pixels (the biggest file size factor). Compression then optimizes the remaining data. Doing it in reverse wastes compression effort on pixels you'll throw away.
