Many cameras save orientation data in EXIF metadata rather than actually rotating the pixels. Some platforms ignore EXIF and display the photo rotated. Use this tool to permanently rotate the pixels so the orientation is correct everywhere.
Does rotating an image reduce quality?
Rotating by 90, 180, or 270 degrees is lossless — pixels are rearranged without recompression. Rotating by an arbitrary angle (e.g., 45 degrees) requires resampling and will slightly reduce quality. This tool uses 90-degree increments only, so quality is preserved.
What's the difference between rotating and flipping?
Rotation turns the image around a center point (e.g., 90 degrees clockwise). Flipping mirrors the image — horizontal flip swaps left and right, vertical flip swaps top and bottom. Flipping is useful for correcting selfies taken with a front-facing camera.
